Museum artifacts and replicas represent an interesting set of challenges in the creative prop making world. The nature of their environment is usually very sensitive and the selected materials need to be sympathetic. Put simply, creating museum props is an art.
At Dick George Creatives, we have in-house manufacturing capabilities that encompass a huge range of processes including the sculpting and casting of exact museum replicas and the manufacture of authentic documents. We work in base metals, precious metals, exotic timbers, leather, natural fabrics and solvent-free casting mediums.
Our experience includes creating first edition replica books for the BBC TV series To Walk Invisible and ancient manuscripts for the Tomb Raider film set. We have also worked with museums, heritage centres and galleries across the world, producing display props and installations for permanent and temporary exhibitions on a vast range of subjects.
Tag Heuer commissioned our onsite artists to create an art collection to celebrate their brand.
